Why classify these scenes as explicit?

Some may argue:

"It is not pornography because it has a story."
"It is only one scene."
"It is artistic, romantic, or part of the plot."

However, the existence of a storyline does not remove the nature of what is being shown.

This list focuses on scenes involving:

* nudity

* sexual acts

* sexual touching

* intercourse

* sexual exploitation

* prostitution involving sexual activity

* sexual violence

The purpose is not to judge every person who has encountered these works, but to make people aware of what may be present before they choose what enters their eyes and hearts.

DO NOT treat this as a collection of recommendations or a challenge to explore forbidden things. Curiosity is often how people slowly normalize what they once considered unacceptable.

Remember that Allah sees what is hidden as well as what is visible.

This reminder is not an accusation towards any actor either. A production may involve body doubles, or other circumstances unknown to the viewer. We only conclude what can be seen.

Another purpose is to remind ourselves of the sanctity of marriage.

It refers to sexual penetration between those without a valid marriage contract.

In order for judgement, the act must be clearly established. Such as through a person’s own confession or four trustworthy witnesses who directly witnessed the act as described above.

Even then, Islamic punishment can only be carried out under legitimate Islamic authority. Not individuals.

A married person who commited it is to be stoned to death.

An unmarried person who commited it is to be lashed one hundred times.

"And do not approach zina. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is an evil way."

Surah Al-Isra 17:32

Notice that Allah does not only prohibit the final act, but commands believers not to approach the paths that lead toward it.

"Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what they do."

Surah An-Nur 24:30

"And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts..."

Surah An-Nur 24:31

However, awareness of sin should never become despair.

Allah's mercy is greater than any mistake a person can make. The door of repentance remains open for those who sincerely return to Him.

“All of the children of Adam are wrongdoers, and the best wrongdoers are those who repent.”

"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

Surah Al-A'raf 7:23

"...Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake..."

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:286

May Allah protect our eyes, hearts, and families from what harms them, and guide us back whenever we fall short.
