In under 4 minutes, we'll make a
smooth text animation in Maxon Autograph,
a free After Effects alternative
SHOW THE ACTUAL RESULT
START WITH DEFAULT TEXT AND LEFT ALIGNED
Let's begin! by switching to the Text Tool!
Click, and type
CLICK ON THE COMPOSITION, NO NEED TO BE PERFECTLY CENTERED
To make adjustments, first, highlight the text
Then go here
ADJUST THE SIZE TO APPEAR CENTERED
Now we can switch back to the Transform tool
To start animating, go to the top right
Beside Animators, click Add Animator
Then select, Position
Now click the button below it
to add another property alongside it
Select, Opacity
To set the starting values for the animation, let's go down
You can drag this border to see them better
In this example, let's make the text appear from the bottom
So decrease the vertical position
By clicking and dragging the right-hand value, to the left
You can also hold Shift on your keyboard to change the numbers faster
Then we set the opacity to 0
Next, we adjust the Range
Set the Offset value to be -100
To mark it as the start, click the box on the right,
then click the diamond on top
If we click on the text layer, and press U on the keyboard
Now we can see there is a keyframe marked at 0 seconds
You can also drag this border to see it better
To remove distractions,
click on the green pen icon on top
then disable overlay
Now we can go forward on the timeline
CLICK ON THE TIMELINE
Let's say 2 seconds
CLICK ON THE DRAG THE CURSOR TO BE EXACTLY 02:00
Then go back to Range, and set the offset to 100
A new keyframe will be automatically created
Lastly,
Set the Shape to Ramp Up
And change the Easing from Linear,
to Cubic
And now we have a smooth text animation, for free
To align it to the centre
